About the Role

Axion Networks is hiring a Chief Communications Officer whose mandate covers owning corporate reputation, executive communications and public affairs across its telecommunications business. Based in Austin, TX on a hybrid basis, the role reports to the chief executive officer and the board and carries a remit of Enterprise-wide, with full P&L and board accountability. Axion Networks is a network operator serving enterprise and residential subscribers. The appointed leader inherits 400–1,800 across the function people and will be measured on the strategic priorities set out below rather than activity.

  • Lead corporate, internal and public affairs communications teams

  • Lead executive visibility and thought leadership programmes
  • Manage issues and crisis response with the executive team

  • Oversee public affairs and stakeholder engagement
  • Own the corporate narrative across media, employees and stakeholders

Leadership profile

Qualifications

  • Media, issues and crisis management experience
  • Excellent judgement advising executives under pressure
  • Senior communications leadership in a complex organisation
  • 18+ years, including 6+ at executive committee level of progressive leadership experience
  • Experience operating in the telecommunications sector or an adjacent regulated market

Track record

Leadership Experience

  • Proven leadership of 400–1,800 across the function people, directly and through other leaders
  • Accountability for a budget or P&L consistent with Enterprise-wide, with full P&L and board accountability
  • Experience presenting to executive committees, boards or investment committees
