About the Role

Meridian Capital Partners is hiring a Chief Product Officer whose mandate covers owning product strategy, portfolio priorities and commercial outcomes of the product line across its financial services business. Based in Chicago, IL on a on-site basis, the role reports to the chief executive officer and the board and carries a remit of Enterprise-wide, with full P&L and board accountability. Meridian Capital Partners is a diversified financial services firm advising corporate and institutional clients. The appointed leader inherits 400–1,800 across the function people and will be measured on the strategic priorities set out below rather than activity.

Leadership Responsibilities

  • Lead product directors and group product managers across the portfolio
  • Set the discovery, prioritisation and outcome-review standard
  • Partner as a peer with engineering, design and commercial leadership

First 12 months

Strategic Priorities

Raise adoption and retention across the installed base
Bring a credible new revenue line to market within the first year
Concentrate investment on the areas with the clearest commercial return

Day to day

Key Responsibilities

  • Run continuous discovery with customers and the market
  • Communicate the product narrative to customers, partners and the board
  • Own the product strategy, roadmap and investment allocation
  • Define measurable outcomes for each portfolio area and hold teams to them
  • Lead pricing, packaging and lifecycle decisions with finance and sales

Leadership profile

Qualifications

  • Strong customer research and analytical instincts
  • Product leadership experience owning a portfolio and its commercial outcomes
  • Record of shipping products that moved adoption, retention or revenue
  • 18+ years, including 6+ at executive committee level of progressive leadership experience
  • Experience operating in the financial services sector or an adjacent regulated market

Leadership Experience

  • Proven leadership of 400–1,800 across the function people, directly and through other leaders
  • Accountability for a budget or P&L consistent with Enterprise-wide, with full P&L and board accountability
  • Experience presenting to executive committees, boards or investment committees
